Shortcuts taste sour
A lived observation.
A hard day’s work ain’t always pretty. Sometimes it feels like wrestling a shopping cart with one bad wheel through a gravel parking lot uphill. Every step pulls sideways, every inch earned.
By quitting time, your shirt’s got more stories in it than a small-town barstool. Your hands look like you washed ‘em with a belt sander. Your back’s talking trash and your boots weigh forty pounds.
But there’s something clean about being tired for a reason.
The world’s full of folks chasing shortcuts. Meanwhile, the ones putting in honest work are out there stacking bricks in the dark while everybody else is arguing about algorithms.
A hard day’s work doesn’t always make you rich. Doesn’t always get applause either. Sometimes all you get is sore knees and a cold drink at the end of the day. But that drink tastes different when you earned it. Tastes like victory wearing work gloves.
That’s the kind of tired you can sleep on.

This is fantastic, Chad! Maybe just exactly what I really needed right about now--have yourself one more cold drink and dedicate it to me? I would love that. 👊
The suits can keep their algorithms and shortcuts. There is an honesty in a sore back and a cold drink that you just can't hack or cheat your way into. It’s the one kind of fatigue the modern world hasn't figured out how to tax yet. Keep stacking, Chad.
